1000 Places To See Before You Die

The longest air-travel so far.

This week, my saturday came to an end only after a tiring 30 odd hours (30??..yep). Well My flight to Boston took me through time-zones and my EOD kept getting pushed ahead.

The economy class seats were pretty cramped, I'd say but it is good that we could move around in the plane. The stop-over was at Heathrow Airport, London for 3:50 hours.

Heathrow Airport Terminal 4. Wow (I couldnt think of any other word on landing there). Simply amazing. You have to see it to believe it. In my estimate, it is probably bigger then 2-3 malls back home, put together + an airport. And the bonus was that I got to take my picture next to two of my dream machines. An Aston Martin and a Blazing Red Ferrari. Here they are:

This is me next to the Aston Martin.

And this is the Ferrari.
Simply Amazing.....!

While beginning my flight, I was a little apprehensive of what am I going to do for close to 4 hours at Heathrow? But believe me, You dont even know when your ready to board your connecting flight. Being a first time overseas traveller, the international security procedures were a bit overwhelming, I'd say. But as an after thought.....I really began to appreciate their thoroughness with checking and security. Superb. And they were extremely courteous but firm at the same time. No Disrespect or ill-treatment.

I landed in Boston at 7:13 PM Local time (GMT-5:00) and cleared immigration to go to the waiting Limo (Boston Coach). This was an experience at a totally different level altogether!

It was a Big..no it was a H-U-G-E Cadillac and Inside, it had all modern ameneties, Climate Control; GPS system, Multi-channel Digital Radio and what not.

But the most important thing was that when it set in motion, I turned around to see whether somebody was pushing the car....which was when I realized that the engine was absolutely "silent". The only sounds I could hear on the road was rubber against asphalt and the metal cutting through the wind.

My Hotel is adjacent to a highway but still it is absolutely peaceful...

I reached my hotel and while unpacking I discovered that I did not have the one most essential thing while travelling out side of country. The ubiquitous but essential Universal to US converter plug. The one that I had packed with me turned out, was for UK and not the US. I then explored a local mall here (Lincoln Mall) and found what I wanted for $10.00. Also tried my hand at driving the Left Hand Drive Chevrolet Cobalt. It was fun...pretty much like playing a video game.

This looks like it is going to be one exciting trip and I hope to capture as much of it as I can on my little travelog.

Keep watching this space.
